WHERE CAN I PURCHASE RUDIMENTAAL?
RUDIMENTAAL can be purchased directly from the publisher at liquidrum.com, and ships internationally. Within Canada, Timpano Percussion carries the book, and in the USA, aside from liquidrum.com, it is also available at Lone Star Percussion and Steve Weiss Music.
DOES RUDIMENTAAL INCLUDE PLAY-ALONG TRACKS?
Lehra practice tracks are available here (free download). If there is a demand for it, I may record some tabla play-along tracks as well.
DOES RUDIMENTAAL INCLUDE ALL THE TABLA BOLS?
RUDIMENTAAL does include many bols, but not all. The full bols are provided for KAIDA 1, and TUKRA COLLECTION 1, 2, and 3. For KAIDA 2, 3, 4, 5 and RELA 1 and 2, the starting bols are indicated, in order for the source to be made clear, but I do not provide the complete bols for these. Throughout all the pieces, the compositional types are clearly labeled, along with variations, tihais, etc.
HOW SHOULD ONE INTERPRET THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF ACCENT?
There are three levels of accent used in RUDIMENTAAL: the tenuto (-), the regular accent (>), and the strong accent or marcato (^). The tenuto (-) should have more weight / emphasis than an unaccented note, but less than a regular accent. The marcato (^) is stronger than a regular accent.
